On July 9, 2007, the SOMNION Dream Stimulation Device™ was still being conceived. Beyond Lucid Technologies CEO Jonathon Feit met with representatives from the U.S. Army's Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), to discuss our company's early-stage, non-invasive device to treat Post-Traumatic Stress. The technology's first beneficiaries were to be active-duty soldiers and veterans suffering from PTSD.

Since that date, Beyond Lucid Technologies has been working to build SOMNION™ with constant attention to operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility – "bootstrapping" at its finest. The goal is to complete a working prototype completed during 2009, for delivery to military medical corps in time to help the hundreds of thousands of soldiers that the Obama administration has promised to bring home from conflict zones around the world.
